Right when clocks ticked past midnight, close to one in the morning their time. A sharp explosion tore into the front of the American consulate office in Oslo. Officers arrived fast after a report came through, spotting black burns sprayed across the entry. Damage not bad, one cop mentioned, though nothing else came out – too soon to tell much.
Folks nearby insist a loud blast split the air, right before streaks of light cut through the night sky. Police vehicles flooded the streets soon after, accompanied by barking dogs, buzzing drones, plus a chopper spinning above. Inside his house, sixteen-year-old Edvard sat glued to the television when windows shook from the impact. “Our initial guess? Trouble inside,” he said to TV2, though officers in full kit arrived within minutes
Bomb teams have arrived, while officers speak to people who saw what happened. Security staff from the embassy are getting updates as events unfold. Even though American posts across the Middle East are more cautious now, local police state they see no signs connecting this event in Oslo to larger tensions.
