IGP Orders Urgent Submission Of Bank Details, Nominal Roll Of All Nigerian Police Officers

By: Abudu Olalekan

New directive from Abuja demands full staff lists and account info by April 9.

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, just dropped a heavy directive. He wants every formation across the country to hand over complete nominal rolls plus bank account details for every officer under them. From the inspectors down to the rank-and-file. No one excluded.

This didn’t come as a suggestion either. It was marked “M/IMMEDIATE” right out of the IGP Secretariat in Abuja. Dated March 30, 2026, the signal went straight to Assistant Inspectors-General, State Commissioners, and heads of those specialized units everyone knows about.

Basically, the message was clear. They need the comprehensive list of officers currently serving. And yeah, they want the account numbers too. You know why. Transparency stuff usually. Or payroll cleanup. Hard to tell, but the demand is absolute.

They aren’t making it easy on paper alone either. Formations got told to submit hard copies, sure, but the soft copy needs to be in editable Excel format. That goes through the official police email chain.

Here is the kicker, the clock is already ticking. The deadline? Thursday, April 9, 2026.

There’s no wiggle room on this one. The directive spelled out that this is of “utmost urgency.” It basically warned formations that compliance is expected without needing reminders sent back and forth. Ignoring it isn’t really an option.

If you track the reference number, it’s CB: 4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.124/4. It hit just about every corner of the organization too—police colleges, tactical squads, Border Patrol, Maritime Police, Counter-Terrorism, Interpol, Airwing, even the Mobile Police (MOPOL).
