Another Legend Gone. Chief Kanran Has Died.

Sad news today. Another light in Nollywood has gone out.

Chief Kanran, the veteran actor we all knew, is gone. He was 70.

It was movie producer Seun Oloketuyi who confirmed it. Posted it on Instagram Friday morning. Just said that the popular actor, whose real name was Olusegun Akinremi, had passed away.

For years, you just knew his face. He was a rock in the Yoruba film industry. He had this unique style, you couldnt mistake it for anyone else. That charm. That sharp sense of humor. He could be funny one minute and then deliver a performance that just grab you.

A real favourite on stage and screen for so long. And now he’s gone.
