Lagos Building Permit: Sanwo-Olu Launches New Online Platform

Fresh changes are live for Lagos building permits. A digital overhaul now runs the show – thanks to Governor Sanwo-Olu’s rollout of an online system that cuts waiting time drastically. The move shifts everything faster, streamlining how approvals go through.

These days, sorting out a Lagos building permit feels different somehow. Picture this: less standing around, fewer forms stacked high on desks. Turns out, the old grind might actually be shifting into something smoother.

A new digital platform is now live under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s direction, meant to ease the struggle of getting building approval documents across the region. While old methods dragged on, this move swaps confusion for something smoother – steps that once took weeks may now shrink down. Instead of long queues and unclear rules, applicants face a clearer path forward. Behind the scenes, coordination between departments sharpens. Though some hurdles might linger, progress shows in how quickly forms shift from submission to review. With time, what felt like a maze could start feeling more like a straight road.

Lagos State’s physical planning chief, Mr. Kehinde Osinaike, spoke about the update. That Thursday – March twelfth, two thousand twenty-six – he shared details through a note. Out came the message via Mrs. Abimbola Emdin-Umeh, who handles public affairs there.

Now they’ve named it the Electronic Physical Planning Permit Processing System – EPPPS for short. A handful to say, sure. Still, the concept isn’t complicated: LASPPPA aims to bring the entire approval process into today’s world. Speed matters just as much.

Folks at home now skip long trips to hand in paperwork, thanks to Osinaike’s update. From any corner of the region, applicants tap into the system using devices they already own. Filling forms, sending documents – everything rolls out through one digital window. Government desks see fewer queues since steps shifted fully online.

Speeding things up sits at the heart of this change. Paperwork hurdles slowing permits down vanish under new handling. Weeks stuck waiting? That kind of holdup fades out completely.

What matters most, Osinaike said, isn’t only how fast things move. Behind it lies openness, smoother operations, responsibility in handling land projects. Rules must be followed when constructing buildings, he went on – standards already set need sticking to. Skipping steps won’t happen.

The head of operations mentioned the new tool shows how seriously officials are taking tech upgrades for better public services. Right away, locals should start using it – so can builders and those putting money into projects.

“Submit your planning permit applications through the online platform,” he advised.

Finally, something moves – state leaders pushing ahead with digital tools to handle Lagos’s swelling numbers. A shift long overdue, really. This whole push aims at shaping up how things run, making them fit what people now demand.
