Rivers State cabinet dissolved as Governor Fubara reshuffles top aides

Big shakeup in Rivers State. Governor Siminalayi Fubara just dissolved his entire cabinet. Poof. All commissioners and special advisers are out. Just like that.
He also fired his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi. No reasons given. None. But he did name a replacement right away—Mr. Onwuka Nzeshi. Nzeshi signed the government announcement himself, back in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The statement was very formal. Very grateful. “His Excellency expresses his deepest appreciation…” blah blah. But the order was crystal clear: everyone hand over immediately. To the Permanent Secretaries. Or the most senior officer. No过渡 period. No explanations.
So now what? Well, Fubara has to send a fresh list of commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly. The one led by Martin Amaewhule. They’ll screen and confirm them. Or not. That’s the next battle.
This is huge. Total reset. Everyone’s wondering why. But for now, the message is simple: new team coming. Old team, gone.
