So Sad: Phyna’s Sister Ruth Otabor Has Passed Away

This is really heartbreaking. Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna, has died. The family broke the news early Sunday morning, around 6:30 a.m., through a statement from their lawyers, Eko Solicitors & Advocates.

They said, “With a heavy heart, the family regrets to announce the passing on to glory of their daughter, sister, and mother on this 31st Day of August, 2025 at about 06:30Hrs.” Right now, they’re asking for privacy to just mourn and heal.

Ruth’s story was already so tough. Just weeks ago, she was in a terrible accident near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State. A big truck — connected to the Dangote Group — hit her. Eyewitnesses say the truck crushed her leg before someone finally stopped it. She had to have her leg amputated after that.

And here’s the thing that really hits hard — Ruth had just graduated from Auchi Polytechnic six days before the accident. Imagine that. One moment, she’s celebrating a huge milestone, and then everything changes.

Now, her family and fans are left heartbroken, trying to make sense of it all. They haven’t shared funeral plans yet, but when they do, they’ll let everyone know. For now, they just want some quiet time to grieve. It’s a lot to take in.
