The Super Eagles camp is buzzing. Thirteen players have landed so far, all gearing up for the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria’s set to face Rwanda and South Africa soon, and the stakes couldn’t be higher.

It started Monday with four players checking in—William Troost-Ekong, Amas Obasogie, Felix Agu, and Raphael Onyedika. Then, on Tuesday, nine more joined the squad in Ikot Ikpene. Names like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Moses Simon popped up, adding fresh energy to the team.

Promise Efoghe, the team’s media officer, told NAN that while 23 players were called up, only 13 have arrived so far. The rest? They’re expected any time now—maybe later today, maybe tomorrow morning. “We’re just waiting on them,” Efoghe said.

The team’s not just training hard—they’re also opening up to the media. A press conference with coaches and some players is set for Wednesday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium. Then, on Friday, there’ll be another pre-match press event, plus a peek at the first 15 minutes of training.

The missing players include big names like Victor Osimhen and Wilfred Ndidi, who’ll join soon. Nigeria’s hosting Rwanda on Friday in Uyo, then heading to South Africa for the Monday match in Bloemfontein.

Right now, the Super Eagles sit third in Group C with two points. South Africa and Rwanda lead with four points each. Only the group winner gets a direct ticket to the World Cup, so every game counts.

The full squad is a mix of talent from all over Europe and beyond—goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and forwards—all ready to fly Nigeria’s flag high.

The countdown is on. The Super Eagles are ready to roar.
