A date schedule for the 2027 national vote was released Monday by the APC’s top decision group after long delays. Key moments and guidelines for selecting contenders nationwide are now public, following internal coordination.

A document stamped by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, laid out what dreams cost. Those aiming for the presidency under APC need to hand over N100 million just for forms – Expression of Interest plus nomination. Governorship candidates? Half that sum: fifty million naira. Senate bids come with a twenty-million-naira entry fee. Aspiring members of the House of Representatives face a ten-million requirement instead. Numbers were listed plainly, no room for guesswork.

Barring delays, the party gathering for president runs May 15 through 16. Though unconfirmed, dates lean toward mid-May. Timing points to a window just after spring begins winding down.

What really sparked chatter? That schedule skipped the details on running the primary. Under the Electoral Act 2026, each party can pick either a direct vote or go with agreement behind closed doors – so right now, nobody knows what comes next.

Surprisingly, the confusion gains weight when considering recent moves within the APC. With its governors backing him firmly, Bola Tinubu now stands as the party’s chosen name. So too does the National Assembly group throw their support behind him. Key figures across the organization have lined up, one after another, to make it clear – he is their pick.

State officials set May 23 as the day for picking gubernatorial candidates through primary votes.

Even so, the NWC aimed to ease worries through its message, stressing dedication to a fair and open procedure – helping nurture democratic practices within while holding fast to progressive values.
