The podium gave way. Adeleke walked away

It was supposed to be a rally. A big one. In Ijebu-Jesa, Osun State. Governor Ademola Adeleke was there. So was his deputy, the speaker, a bunch of officials.

Then the podium collapsed.

Just like that. One minute the MC was winding down the music. Next minute— crash. The whole thing caved in.

A video Reportersroom got shows the moment it happened. People scrambling. Dust. Chaos. But somehow, nobody got hurt.

“The crowd was a bit much,” a source said. He didn’t want his name out. “The governor and some cabinet members were seated right there when it went down. No casualties. The event actually resumed later.”

Really? Yeah. Adeleke got up, dusted himself off, and went on to address the crowd. Then he left for another event in Odo-Otin.

The deputy spokesperson, Oladele Bamiji, played it cool. “It wasn’t as serious as people think. No injuries. The event went smoothly after that.”

But you know how it is. A podium collapsing with the governor on it? That’s gonna make headlines.

Still, no one was crushed. No broken bones. Just a scary moment and a story to tell.
